Field Hockey Comes Up Short To Temple In 1-0 Decis

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Fairfield University field hockey team came up short in their second game of a two-day trip to Philadelphia, falling to Temple University by a 1-0 score.

The Owls scored the game's only goal just six minutes into the game when Katie Briglia collected a rebounded shot and pushed the ball past Fairfield goalkeeper Maddy Sposito. Bridget Settles took the original shot which Sposito kicked away, but the ball landed on the stick of Briglia, who responded with her first collegiate goal.

Temple goalkeeper Sarah Darymple made one save to record the shutout, her first shutout of the season. The Owls took 16 shots in the game, while Sposito registered eight saves during the game.

The Stags return to action next weekened when they play the host school at the Dartmouth Invitational.
