Volleyball Ends Regular Season With 3-1 Loss At St

The Fairfield University volleyball team ended the 2010 regular season with a 3-1 (25-14, 17-25, 25-27, 24-26) loss at Saint Peter's College this afternoon. It was the Peahens' first victory against the Stags (11-19; 10-8 MAAC) since 2003.

Junior Haililani Pokipala (Honolulu, Hawaii) and rookie Rachel Romansky (Denver, Colo.) each posted double-doubles while several Stags were in double figures. 

Pokipala notched her eighth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 16 digs while Romansky had her sixth with 33 assists and 15 digs. Romansky also added six kills. Sophomore Brianna Dixion (Long Beach, Calif.) also figured into the Stags offense, tallying 10 kills on .400 hitting.

Defensively, sophomore Kara Reis (Ramona, Calif.) had 20 digs while Stephanie Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) tied a career-high with 16 digs. Senior Hannah Segebart (Littleton, Colo.) chipped in with a season-high 10 digs along with five kills.
