Stags Tie Marist 0-0 In MAAC Finale

Box Score
The Fairfield University women's soccer team had a shot and a corner kick in the final 48 seconds of the second overtime, but could not convert, and tied Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) host Marist College, 0-0. The tie ends the Stags MAAC Championship hopes, finishing the season at 4-3-2 in MAAC play and 8-8-3 overall, while the Red Foxes end the regular season at 10-8-1 overall and 6-2-1 in conference play.
Fairfield out shot Marist 5-3 in extra time, and had two late corner kick chances, but were unable to put a ball in the back of the net. Stags keeper Kelly Boudreau equaled the program's single-season record with her 11th shutout of the year, as she made five saves in blanking Marist. She also finished the year with 113 saves – a career-high – and tied for second in a single-season in program history. She became only the fourth keeper in program history to record over 300 career saves, and with 304 is within 84 saves of the school record, 388, held by Anne Lyons.
Casey Frobey made the 83rd start of her career on Sunday – starting every game in which she appeared – and will graduate as the program leader in that category.

Marist finished the game with an 18-13 advantage in shots, and a 5-4 edge in corner kick chances. Red Fox goalkeeper Jamie Balzarini
