Diving Has Solid Outing At CCSU Invitational

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The Fairfield University men's and women's diving team had a solid outing at the 2010 Central Connecticut State University Diving Invitational this morning.

On the men's 3-meter, the Stags took the top three spots. Senior Brett Carisio (Cheshire, Conn.) won the event with a score of 181.15 while sophomore Ryan Krebs (East Williston, N.Y.) was second with 151.95 points. Freshman Brien Bates (Wellesley, Mass.) was third with a personal best of 146.45.

Bates turned in a second-place finish on the 1-meter with a mark of 175.75, setting another personal best. Krebs placed third with a score of 174.75 while Carisio was fourth with a score of 173.00.

In the women's events, freshman Abigail Sanders (Falls Church, Va.) placed fourth on the 1-meter with a score of 177.80. Sophomore Kim Pettit (Westwood, Mass.) finished fifth on the 3-meter with a personal best of 125.50. She posted a score of 105.25 on the 1-meter.

The diving team rejoins the swimmers on October 30 when Fairfield hosts Providence College at 1pm at the RecPlex.
