Nichole Schiro struck twice in an 82 second span in the first-half to give the Loyola Greyhounds a 2-0 wins over the Fairfield University women's soccer team in Baltimore, Md. in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action this evening. The loss drops the Stags to 6-6-2 overall and 2-1-1 in league play, while the Greyhounds improve to 6-8-2 on the year and 2-3-0 in MAAC action.
Schiro lofted a ball from 20-yards out just six minutes into the game, off a Kelly Farrell pass, to net what would turn out to be the game-winning tally. She struck for the second time only 82 seconds later, putting home a pass from Kelly Thomas, from 15 yards out.
The game was evenly played the remainder of the contest, with Loyola having a 10-8 edge in shots over the final 82 minutes of action. Kelly Boudreau stopped five shots for Fairfield during that time, while Danielle Ippolito stopped the three shots that the Stags put on net during the contest.  Jac Ley provided one of the Stags most potent scoring chances, knocking a shot off of the left post from 25 yards out.
The Stags MAAC road trip continues on Sunday when they are in Lawrenceville, N.J. for a 1 p.m. contest with Rider University.
