WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Fairfield University men's rowing team competed at the 2022 New England Championships with the varsity 4 highlighting the day for the Stags. The shell secured second place in the grand final after winning its heat to qualify for the race.
The varsity 4 opened the championships for the Stags, starting with a first-place run in its heat by completing the course in 6:59.15. The time was strong enough to qualify for the grand final which ended with a second-place finish with a time of 6:45.61. The Stags were represented by
Michael Hamilton,
Michael Pagliaro,
Michael Greene,
Ryan Wrynn, and coxswain Matt Tarabocchia.
The second varsity 8 was next in the water for Fairfield and it responded with a seventh-place run in the heat race (7:04.40) and a second-place finish in the third final (6:44.77). The entry included

Patrick Arsenault, John Riley, Christian DiGangi,
Eddie Pizzaro, Frank DiNatale,
Jack Cartnick,
George Voegele, and coxswain
Angeles Mendoza.
The varsity 8 ended the day for Fairfield by taking fifth in its heat (6:29.10) before securing third in the third final (6:24.05). The Stags boat was comprised by Will LaMotta,

Brendan Martin,

The men's rowing team will compete next at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia on May 13-14.Â
