Fairfield University men's lacrosse senior Mike Bocklet was named the NEILA New England Division I Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. It marks the second time this season that Bocklet has won the weekly honor, and the third honor of the year for the Stags.
Bocklet tallied three goals for the #19 Stags on Saturday, in an 8-7 loss to #5 Georgetown. He scored the team's first two goals, both in the first quarter, to give the Stags a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. His third goal came during the Stags third quarter run, knotting the score 5-5, midway in the period.
Fairfield is 5-3 on the year, and 1-3 in ECAC play. The Stags will host North Carolina on Sunday, April 15, at noon, on Lessing Field. The game will be preceded by a ceremony honoring the lacrosse club team of 1987 for its undefeated record. There will also be a reception, sponsored by the Alumni Association, following the men's game and preceding the women's game against Niagara, at 3:30 p.m.
