Fairfield men's lacrosse player Travis Nelson was named the NEILA New England Division I Offensive Player of the Week. Nelson tallied 17 points in wins over then #11 Bucknell and Harvard in the past week, both wins for the Stags.
In the win over Bucknell, Nelson netted three goals and dished out four assists. He surpassed that effort against Harvard as he tallied 10 points, with four goals and six assists.
Nelson is second on the team with 24 points through the Stags first five games of the year. He has dished out a team-high 13 assists and is third with 11 goals scored.
The Stags, now ranked 12th in the nation, begin a three-game ECAC Lacrosse League road trip on Saturday, traveling to Penn State.
