Men's Lacrosse Closes Home Schedule Saturday With ECAC Foe Loyola On CN8
Apr 17, 2008
The Fairfield University men’s lacrosse team will play its
final home game of the 2008 campaign on Saturday, hosting ECAC
Lacrosse League foe Loyola College in a game televised live on
CN8. The Stags enter the game at 3-7 overall, 1-3 in ECAC
play, while the Greyhounds are 6-4 on the year and 5-0 in league
action.
Fans can follow the game on-line with video provided through B2 Networks, with the audio feed being
provided by the student radio station, WVOF
88.5 FM. In addition fans can access livestats on the athletic department website.
Saturday’s game will have several events running in
conjunction with the game. The Fairfield University Office of
Alumni Relations is hosting its annual Spring Back To Fairfield
event beginning at 1 p.m. There will be a complimentary
pre-game barbeque for alumni at Alumni House. FUSA and IRHA
are hosting a student-oriented event as well, with the Great
Tailgate ’08 beginning at noon.
The Stags contest versus Loyola is also CONNY Lacrosse
Appreciation Day. All youth CONNY lacrosse players will get
complimentary admission. CONNY's primary purpose is to promote the
game of lacrosse in a safe and sportsmanlike environment. CONNY
wants kids to grow up playing a game of speed, position, and
finesse, rather than physical intimidation. The goal is to conduct
all our activities in a manner that will set an example of good
sportsmanship and friendly competition for our young players.
Fairfield will close out the 2008 regular season on the road,
Tuesday at UMass and Saturday at St. John’s.
