
Baxter Named ECAC Lacrosse Rookie Of The Week

Fairfield University men’s lacrosse freshman Todd Baxter
(Eden Prairie, Minn.) was named the ECAC Lacrosse League rookie of
the week, it was announced Monday afternoon. It marks the
first weekly accolade for Baxter, and the Stags third ECAC weekly
honor of the season.
Baxter, a graduate of Eden Prairie High School, had a team-high
four points in the Stags near upset of league foe, #5 Georgetown on
Saturday. Fairfield tallied eight goals in the contest, and
Baxter played a role in four of those scores.
Baxter’s first assist, the first point of his collegiate
career, came with 60 seconds remaining in the first half, as he fed
a teammate for a goal that tied the score 3-3 at the
intermission. His second assist came 3:02 in the third
quarter again on a goal that tied the game, this time, 4-4.
The rookie, who plays attack, scored his first collegiate goal
early in the final quarter, cutting the Stags deficit to a single
goal, 7-6. His second tally came with 7:44 to play in the
game, again bringing Fairfield within one tally, at 8-7. The
Stags would tie the score 18 seconds later, before falling
10-8.
The Stags are in the midst of a three-game home stand that
continues on Saturday, April 12, when they host Yale University at
7 p.m.
