Men's Lacrosse Cracks USILA Top 20

Mar 4, 2008

The Fairfield University men’s lacrosse team jumped to 20th in the March 3 USILA National Poll, following its 14-9 defeat of Dartmouth College.  The Stags, who had not received any votes in the poll this season, received 25 votes on Monday.

The Stags also received votes in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse poll for the first time, with 12, just two points shy of the number 19 team’s in the nation in that poll, Denver and Rutgers.

The USILA poll is a poll of Division I lacrosse coaches nationwide, while the Nike/Inside Lacrosse poll is voted on by media members that cover lacrosse.

Fairfield is 2-0, with wins over Providence (7-6) and Dartmouth.  The Stags take on 19/19 Rutgers on Saturday, March 8 in Piscataway, N.J.
