The professional playing career of Fairfield University graduate Greg Downing continues to prosper.  The only multiple All-America selection in Stag lacrosse history was the 43rd pick in Saturday's National Lacrosse League Entry Draft, selected by the Boston franchise.

An expansion team, the Boston franchise is the latest member of the 14-team league throughout the United States and Canada.  The season begins in January and the Boston team will play at the TD Banknorth Center in Boston.

Downing was the sixth pick in the MLL draft this summer, playing for the LA Riptide.  He had his first career hat trick for the Riptide in the MLL Championship Game, in helping his squad to a runner-up finish.
