FAIRFIELD, Conn.  - Fairfield University men's and women's cross country coach John Sagnelli has announced the team captains for the 2008 season. The men's team captains will be junior Kevin Manke (Ridgewood, N.J.) and sophomore Ben Heslin (Kensington, Conn.) while the women's team will have tri-captains in senior Devann Ard (Watchung, N.J) and juniors Caroline Conant (E. Longmeadow, Mass.) and Ashley Doran (Brick, N.J.). 

Manke, a MAAC All-Academic selection, was a consistent top-three finisher for the Stags last season, building off a solid freshman campaign. Heslin had an outstanding debut for the Stags in 2007, finishing first for Fairfield in seven of eight races. 

Ard, who battled injuries in 2006, came back for a solid junior campaign earning a spot as the Stags' top-finisher in four races. Conant was a consistent top-three finisher for the Stags last year. Doran, a MAAC All-Academic selection, placed in the top-five several times for Fairfield.
